ह्याच आठवड्यात शोएबला अशाच एका ट्रोल अभियानाला सामोरे जावे लागले. अँपल कंपनीने नवीन iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus आणि Phone X हे फोन बाजारात आणण्याची घोषणा केली. त्यावर अख्तरने एक खास ट्विट केला ज्यात अख्तर म्हणतो की माझ्याकडे सध्या iphone 7 आहे तो बदलून मी या तीनपैकी कोणता फोन घ्यावा?

त्याने चाहत्यांसाठी ट्विटर पोल तयार केला. त्याला तब्बल १० हजार लोकांनी उत्तर दिले. परंतु त्या ट्विटवर आलेले रिप्लाय मात्र नक्कीच शोएब अख्तरला समाधान देणारे नव्हते. ट्विपलने यावर शोएबचा चांगलाच समाचार घेतला.
