भारताचे क्रिकेटपटू केएल राहुल आणि हार्दिक पंड्या यांना त्यांनी कॉफी विथ करन या शोमध्ये महिलांबद्दल केलेल्या विवादात्मक विधानांमुळे बीसीसीआयने निलंबित केले आहे.
त्यामुळे भारताचा युवा फलंदाज शुबमन गिलची काल(13 जानेवारी) केएल राहुल ऐवजी न्यूझीलंड दौऱ्यासाठी भारतीय संघात निवड झाली आहे. तो मागील काही महिन्यांपासून जबरदस्त फॉर्ममध्ये आहे. त्याची भारतीय संघात निवड झाल्याने त्याच्यावर सोशल मीडियातून कौतुकाचा वर्षाव होत आहे.
असा आहे शुबमन गिलचा प्रवास-
त्याने 2017 मध्ये पंजाब संघाकडून प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेटमध्ये पदार्पण केले होते. हे पदार्पणही त्याच्यासाठी खास ठरले होते. त्याने हे पदार्पण बंगाल विरुद्धच्या सामन्यात करताना या सामन्यात त्याने अर्धशतकी खेळी केली होती.
त्यानंतर त्याची 2018च्या 19 वर्षांखालील विश्वचषकासाठी भारताच्या संघातही निवड झाली. त्याने त्याची ही निवड सार्थकी लावताना या स्पर्धेत 6 सामन्यात 372 धावा केल्या होत्या. यात त्याने 1 शतक आणि 3 अर्धशतके केली आहेत. त्याला यामुळे मालिकावीराचाही पुरस्कार देण्यात आला होता.
त्याच्या या कामगिरीमुळे त्याला 2018 च्या आयपीएलमध्ये कोलकता नाईट रायडर्स संघाने 1.80 कोटी रुपयांची बोली लावत संघात घेतले. तसेच त्याच्यासाठी भारतीय अ संघाचेही दरवाजे उघडले गेले.
त्याने विजय हजारे ट्रॉफीच्या नुकत्याच झालेल्या मोसमात 59.71 च्या सरासरीने 418 धावा केल्या आहेत. तसेच सध्या सुरु असलेल्या रणजी ट्रॉफी स्पर्धेतही त्याने 9 डावात 104 च्या सरासरीने दोन शतके आणि 4 अर्धशतकांसह 728 धावा केल्या आहेत. यात त्याने तमिळनाडू विरुद्ध मोहालीत 268 धावांची द्विशतकी खेळी केली होती.
त्याने प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेटमध्ये आत्तापर्यंत 9 सामन्यात 77.28 च्या सरासरीने 1089 धावा केल्या आहेत. तसेच अ दर्जाच्या क्रिकेटमध्ये 36 सामन्यात 47.78 सरासरीने 1529 धावा केल्या आहेत.
त्याची ही कामगिरी पाहून त्याच्यावर अनेक दिग्गजांनी तसेच चाहत्यांनी शुभेच्छांचा वर्षाव केला आहे.
