भारतीय क्रिकेट संघाचा सध्याचा ‘मिस्टर डिपेंडेबल’ किंवा नव्या भारतीय संघाची भिंत अशी ओळख निर्माण करणाऱ्या चेतेश्वर पुजाराचा सोमवारी (२५ जानेवारी) ३३ वा वाढदिवस आहे. राजकोट येथे जन्मलेल्या या क्रिकेपटूला अनेक आजी माजी दिग्गजांनी वाढदिवसानिमित्त शुभेच्छा दिल्या आहेत.
पुजारासाठी हा वाढदिवस खास असेल, कारण तो नुकताच ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौऱ्यावरुन परतला आहे. हा ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरा त्याच्यासाठी खास ठरला. त्याने या दौऱ्यातील ब्रिस्बेन कसोटीत अनेकदा चेंडू शरिरावर लागूनही ५६ धावांची महत्त्वपूर्ण खेळी केली होती. त्याच्या एक बाजू सांभाळण्याने दुसऱ्या बाजूने भारतीय फलंदाजांना फटकेबाजी करण्याचे स्वातंत्र्य मिळत होते. त्यामुळे हा सामना भारताला जिंकला आला, तसेच कसोटी मालिकेतही विजय मिळवता आला. त्यामुळे अनेकांनी पुजाराच्या या खेळीचे कौतुक केले होते.
त्यानंतर आता पुजारा घरी आला आहे. पुजाराला भारतीय संघातील संघहकाऱ्यांनीही शुभेच्छा दिल्या आहेत. भारताचा नियमित कर्णधार विराट कोहलीने शुभेच्छा देताना म्हटले आहे की ‘वाढदिवसाच्या शुभेच्छा पुज्जी. तुला निरोगी आरोग्य, सुख मिळो आणि तुला खेळपट्टीवर अधिक काळ घालवण्याची आणखी संधी मिळो. तुला हे वर्ष चांगले जावे.’
